Estuary or reef fishing on a guided trip………..
Hinchinbrook Explorer does fishing trips daily, it is a roomy, safe and stable vessel featuring a smooth ride, comfortable padded seating, fully carpeted interior, a shady canopy, extra large ice box, below deck storage and a 50 litre live bait tank.
If you wish to go Reef and Island Fishing for Coral Trout, Red Emperor, Trevally, Mackerel, Big Scale and Cod then you can choose from a full day tour, but ½ day available on application.
Try the calm water River and Estuary Fishing for the much sought after Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Trevally, Salmon, Tarpon and succulent Mud Crab.
Your guide, David Norton, has had many years experience and will teach you all the little tricks required to make your fishing a success. He knows the behaviour and feeding patterns of the target species and is able to adjust techniques with the varying tides and effects of seasonal changes.
All tackle (including lures) is supplied, as is fresh and live local bait and free tuition for beginners. Morning tea, lunch and hot and cold refreshments are included in the price.
Cassawong Cottages can make reservations for you in advance, or during your stay. Reef fishing is subject to weather conditions, so don’t forget howmuch fun estuary fishing can be.
Fishin’ Mission
The operators of this large 20ft Custom Centre Console craft are reef fisherman and they do it well. With a fully carpeted deck, live bait tank, kill tank and a 140hp 4 stroke motor, you can be out at the reef in the blink of an eye….. it even has a toilet on board.
On Fishin’ Mission you can enjoy a day’s fishing on the Great Barrier Reef and they target a variety of reef and pelagic species on the reef drop offs. It is only 1 hour each way to the reef so charter time is not lost on travelling. Departure time is 7am and return time is 4pm, for a fabulous day doing what you like best.
Feel like some Island Fishing for a half day, then you can fish from the Barnard Islands and Wheeler Island, with only ½ hour each way on this fast vessel. Same departure time but you are back by noon.
If you wish to have a sole charter of this vessel, then that is also available as you may want to game fish, swim, snorkel or just cruise around the islands.
All trips on Fishin’ Mission include tackle, bait, soft drinks and morning and afternoon tea. Lunch can be provided on request, but why not prepare a selection of sandwiches and fruit to take with you.
